2017년에 발표한 은 한국의 서울 서쪽에 위치한 섬인 대부도에서 머무르며 작업하는 동안 그곳의 풍경을 모티브로 물, 직접 채취한 흙과 식물, 빛,소리 등을 소재로 하여 실내의 공간에 인공의 풍경을 만들어낸 작업이다. 관객이 공간에 들어섰을 때 어둠속에서 예상하지 못했던 인공의 풍경을 마주하고 동시에 냄새, 소리, 습도 등의 오감각적 요소와 함께 이 일시적인 풍경이 몸으로 체험될 수 있도록 하였다. 공간 전체 바닥에는 검은 물을 채우고 물은 반복적으로 파동치고 있으므로 물의 표면에 반영된 풍경의 이미지는 결결이 쪼개지고 일렁인다. 어쩌면 저 물의 표면에 비친 찰나의 이미지들이 시간의 조각이 되어 우리가 마주하는 세계의 실제 모습이 아닌가 하는 생각을 하며 죽음 혹은 시간에 대한 이야기를 하고자 하였다. 함께 설치된 백묘국은 외국 여행 중 우연히 접하게 된 식물로, 햇빛을 받으면 이파리의 색이 하얗게 질리며 생생해 지는 반면 습기가 많은 곳에서 죽어갈 때는 그 색이 초록빛으로 물든다는 특징을 발견하고 직접 재배하여 설치에 쓰여졌다. 또한 공간에 크게 울리는 사운드는 휘경 시리즈의 흙의 잔재들이 물과 만났을 때 만들어내는 미세한 소리를 채집한 것으로 시각적으로 보여주던 소멸의 과정을 청각적인 요소로 풀어내어 보고자 한 작업이다. 물과 흙, 그 사이의 공기가 만들어내는 소리의 겹침들은 여러 층위의 소리를 만들어내어 더욱 공감각적인 체험의 상태를 유도할 수 있다. 전혀 예상치 못한 공간에서 펼쳐지는 자연의 풍경을 몸으로 마주하게 될 때 시공간을 넘어선 경험과 의 순간을 경험할 수 있게 하였다. Released in 2017, is a work based on the scenery of Daebudo, an island located west of Seoul, South Korea. It is a work to create an artificial landscape in an indoor space using materials. When the audience enters the space, they are faced with an unexpected artificial landscape in the dark, and at the same time, this temporary landscape can be experienced with the body along with the five senses such as smell, sound, and humidity. Since the entire floor of the space is filled with black water and the water is repeatedly undulating, the texture of the landscape reflected on the surface of the water is split and wobbly. I tried to tell a story about death or time, thinking that perhaps the fleeting images reflected on the surface of the water become fragments of time and are not the actual image of the world we are facing. Baekmyoguk, installed together, is a plant that I came across by chance while traveling abroad. When exposed to sunlight, the color of the leaves turns white and vivid, but when they die in a humid place, the color turns green. The sound that resonates loudly in the space is a work to unravel the process of extinction, which was visually shown by collecting the minute sounds made when the remnants of soil in the Hwikyung series meet with water, with an auditory element. The overlap of sounds created by water, soil, and the air in between can create multiple layers of sounds, leading to a more synesthetic experience. When the audience encounters the natural scenery unfolding in a completely unexpected space, it allows them to experience the moment of experience that transcends time and space.
